In today’s post we are going to discuss ways to attain a training effect with the squat if you are dealing with low back pain and/or you have low back pain during or after squatting. Change Bar Position in the Squat. The barbell back squat is considered a staple movement in the gym. It is a great movement for developing strength, power, etc.
I’ve been having a lot of tightness in my lower back sometimes it’s bilateral but more times than not the right side is the tight and the left side isn’t.
For example, I just finished a leg workout and I noticed almost immediately after doing squats that the right side of my lower back (general area of R erector spinae attachment point) was tight.
I’m not sure what is causing this. I don’t know if I’m torquing my hips when squatting or what’s going on but it’s really killing my leg days.
On a separate note possibly related my weightlifting shoes that I squat in are to small and I am getting a larger size. Not sure if that would be related to my issue at hand or not
Recently I've been feeling pain in my lower back (right side right above my ass) after squatting. I never got this before from squatting so I don't know what to do. Every other excercise is fine before I squat, but even warming up with 135 I can feel it. I don't think I did anything retarded to my back because everytime I squatted heavy weight for me I had a spotter and made sure my form was correct. I've been squatting twice a week (tuesdays/fridays). Today I did light weight and afterwards it killed and was painful to move. I'm not sure what to do because I wanna squat more, but at this rate I'm not gonna be able to squat heavier if even doing light weight I feel it. I just put some icy hot on it and I'm gonna take a bath and hopefully it will be better.
Any of you ever get this? Should I just take a week off from squatting? Thank you

Edit: I used the search button and some other people describe the same exact thing that I have, the answers to those threads suck though
